D'Angelo Hospitalized and Cancels Shows due to serious illness

Hip Hop Soul crooner D'Angelo cancels shows last week and was hospitalized due to a serious illness.
According to the Chicago Tribune, D'Angelo had a scheduled concert at the House of Blues recently that was canceled "due to a medical emergency". There are no details as of yet but his agent was quoted as saying that "the illness was serious but, he should be ok". Live Nation, the concert's promoters issued a statment saying D'Angelo "expresses his sincere regret due to this unfortunate circumstance".

Additional shows in Minneapolis, San Diego, New York and Maryland were also cancelled. We hope that D'Angelo gets well soon.  I had a chance to catch him opening for Mary J. Blige in Houston last year and dude ripped the set hard. He weaved in and out of his hits and spiced it up with some new material. We are patiently waiting for a new album.
