From @larenztate ・・・ On this day May 26th, a classic film by two talented young filmmakers, Allen & Albert Hughes, was released in 1993. It starred a tremendous amount of young, hungry actors and artists who couldn’t imagine that Menace fans would love & keep the film alive for decades. The scene captured in this photo was actually deleted from the film. It vividly stands out in my mind because it was a scene that Tyrin Turner and I rehearsed along side the late great #TuPacShakur before starting principal photography on the movie. 2Pac was casted to play Sharif, the pro black righteous Muslim (played by Vonte Sweet), before he was released from the film over creative differences with the filmmakers. Bittersweet as it may have been, 2Pac’s spirit always remained alive! I always recognized him as one of the most talented & gifted actors/artist of our time. I remain grateful for the moments we shared before the making of our movie. The history we made on Menace will always be apart of my journey. Much luv & respect to my fellow Menace brothas @tyrinturner @eiht0eiht @vontesweet100 #RyanWilliams , writer #TigerWilliams #TheHughesBrothers , the entire cast & crew! And of course @jadapinkettsmith Much love to the #Menace2Society Fans!
