Bassist and 80's dance hit maker Tyrone Brunson has died.
We are just learning of this but apparently he died in his home town of Washington DC on May 25th of this year. True old school heads will remember his 1983 hit called "The Smurf" which accompanied the dance craze of the same name. He had one other memorable hit called "Sticky Situation" which was the title of the album that included the smurf single. In his later years he sang background with Levert and subsequently retired from the biz in the 90's to become and I.T. instructor. He will be missed by us old school heads.

Tyrone Brunson’s music brought joy and energy to dance floors everywhere, especially with unforgettable hits like “The Smurf.” His talent and creativity left a lasting impression on the world of 80s dance and funk. My sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who remember his contributions to music. - Thomas Berbas
