Prince comes full circle back to where he began at the WB and re-signs

Prince comes full circle back to where he began at the WB and resigns.
The rumors are true, Prince has re-signed back to Warner Brothers Records, the label he started his career some with 30 years ago. He left the label in 1996 after a bitter split, with him saying that the label had him as a slave. But this is not a tale of a broke artist returning because he has to, this is a return because he wants to. Get your iphones and ipods ready!

Prince has emassed enormous wealth over the years with his independent releases but his mainstream profile has somewhat suffered over the years.  This new deal will seek to re-kindle some of that with a re-release of the top selling purple rain album to commemorate the 30 year anniversary of the release.

The deal is one that was too sweet for Prince to pass up as it will give him complete ownership of his back catalog as well as give him the large platform to release new material.

In a recent press release statement, Prince says, "A brand-new studio album is on the way and both Warner Bros, Records and Eye are quite pleased with the results of the negotiations and look forward to a fruitful working relationship." Warner Bros. Records  CEO Cameron Strang said, "Everyone at Warner Bros. Records is delighted to be working with Prince once again. He is one of the world's biggest stars and a truly unique talent. We are also very excited about the release of new and re-mastered music from one of his greatest masterpieces."
